The demo is a working copy of RootsMagic that allows you to take the program for a spin and get a feel for the interface and feature set. The demo is limited to 50 people, but does allow you to import GEDCOM files with more names than that (so you can try it with your own data if you are using another program).

Certain features are disabled in the demo.

The trial version does not include the wealth of genealogy resources included with the RootsMagic UK Platinum or UK Standard Editions.

The download is approximately 5.5MB and will take quite a long time on a dial-up connection.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have already got RootsMagic v2 installed on your computer, installing version 3 will replace your copy of RootsMagic v2 and upgrade your data from v2 to v3. You will no longer be able to open it in v2. Therefore you must make a backup of your v2 data somewhere safe before installing the v3 trial. Should you then decide not to purchase v3 you will have to uninstall v3, reinstall v2 and then load your backed up v2 data. We will not be held responsible for any data that is lost as a result of not following these instructions.
