RootsMagic UK Forum - Marriage entries doubling up where descendents have same name

[/size]Some of my family have exactly the same name. For the purpose of this thread there are (at least) 4 generations of 'David Moffat'.

After adding a 'New' David Moffat for the second time (i.e this is 3rd generation of David Moffats') and adding a new person as his spouse, I encounter a problem. [Note: 2nd generation added with no problems!].

I also noticed a 'No entry' symbol on the Pedigree view of the record.

In the 'Edit Person' spouse box for the third generation David Moffat record it shows the spouse name twice but it does not register the marriage in details in the main summary box at the top of the Pedigree screen or elsewhere.

The only way I have found round this is to set up records as
David Moffat(1), David Moffat(2) etc.. which is not satisfactory.

Here's a workaround if you have same problem.

After further investigation it appears that all attempts to create parents are failing if using the 'Click to add Father (or Mother)' box.

I have to right click on a person and then 'Add...Parents...'. This works and there are no double entries.

Is this a bug or has my installation been faulty?
