I don't know how to do it on RootsMagic, but as so many mistakes are copy/pasted from Ancestry Public Members Trees into other Ancestry Public Member's Trees I wouldn't recommend the process to anyone.
It is much better to write the details down and check the sources (BMD etc) for yourself before adding the details to your tree.
There is a particular difficulty with Ancestry automatically choosing the USA as a place of Birth, Marriage or Death if there are towns of the same name as towns in UK. (There are of course many UK towns that have matching named places in USA. This makes nonesense of many trees where families end up listed in the wrong part of the world completely!
