Most of the supplied source templates seem to be biased towards the US. It would be nice if a complete set of source templates was provided with the UK edition. For example, a BMD template with fields for the GRO index information. This could then be used where just the index reference is known, as well as where the certificate has been obtained. (The existing templates seem to use certificate number, but this is a pretty meaningless number on a UK certificate - it is the index reference that is required).
It would also be helpful to categorise source templates as the list is quite long, and you don't normally need all of them. If templates could sit in more than one category then even better - show just the UK templates, or show just the BMD templates etc.
Perhaps users could post their own templates on this forum somewhere? Maybe there could be a dedicated subgroup?
I quite agree. It would be wonderful to have templates for UK sources. It would also be great to be able to filter out or delete the templates you don't want from the list. There are so many American ones to wade through that it drives me nuts at times!

Dr Roots says it is being looked into and "if there is enough Support" it mayt be actioned.

We can pass the templates on to the creators but as yet a total of 0 templates have been created by forum members.
It would be nice if the community uploaded their own then they can get tested by other users before being passed on.

Please re-post this in the Technical Support section of the forum - if you could include more details, such as the error message and at what point the error occurs while you are entering a custom source, then someone can look into it for you.
I am currently changing all my source templates. I am unsure how to copy them, but are willing to share.
At the moment I have the Following
one for each year of the census (This is just a click on to enter)
church register of Baptism ( not automatic, the blanks have to be filled in)
Church register of marriage ( As Above)
Church register of Burial ( As Above)
Birth, Marriage and death registers (As Above)
I am now trying to work on Registered Birth death and marriage sentences but this is not easy and the programme is against me (See Roots magic.com forum)
