RootsMagic Genealogy Software: Family History Made Easy |

1. How can I not include information on living people (privatize) in printed reports? There isn't a way to directly privatize the printed reports, but what you can do is: 1. Create a GEDCOM file of your data, and use the privatizing options when creating the GEDCOM 2. Is there a way to copy a report (for instance a descendants report) so that it may be pasted into another application, such as WordPad, and sent in an email? Yes. On the report dialog, in the lower right corner you can change the 'Print to' to a text file. RootsMagic will print the report and open it up in your text editor (like WordPad) so you can cut and paste it. This works for text based printouts, but not for graphical reports like the pedigree chart. For graphical printouts you can print to an Acrobat (PDF) file and send it as an "attachment" to your email. - Updated: March 15, 2004 3. When I print a narrative report it has several (NEED TO DEFINE SENTENCE:Hobby). What does it mean? How can I correct it? It means you imported a GEDCOM file from another program that had user defined facts in it (in this case "Hobby"). RootsMagic does not know how to write a sentence for that fact type. 4. Is it possible to remove the reference number in narrative reports? To prevent the reference number (or any other fact) from printing in a report: 1. Do "Lists, Fact type list" from the main menu. 5. How do I enter the preparer's name and address so it will appear in reports? Do "Tools > Options" to open the options dialog, then select "Preparer". - Updated: March 15, 2004
